Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) is thrilled to announce that its nationwide Story of Scripture experience is coming to the greater DFW area Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15, 2025.
The Story of Scripture is a unique event in which Dr. Mark Yarbrough, president of the seminary, and other leading speakers present a two-day conference that immerses attendees in the major themes that weave all of Scripture together from Genesis through Revelation. But more importantly, the experience helps attendees understand their part in God’s great plan of redemption.
“The Scripture is pretty clear that God makes promises and keeps them,” says Dr. Yarbrough. “He reveals those promises in the pages of his Word, and offers his assurance to every believer that we can trust him unconditionally with the messiness of life.”
The DFW event will also feature the display of some unique and important antiquities including a Torah scroll, and several 16th century manuscripts for attendees to view as a part of the weekend experience.
“These rare artifacts are a testimony to how God has preserved the integrity of his Word throughout the centuries,” says Dr. Yarborough. “It’s a chance for attendees to see artifacts that don’t just testify to the faith in ages past but help people today identify with how God is the architect of history, past, present and future. It’s a special opportunity for people to see living history, and understand that they are a part of it.”
In addition to the antiquities, this event will also feature the launch of the newest Story of Scripture resource called Jot and Tittle. The Jot and Tittle children’s story book series features a jovial pig named Jot and a timid donkey named Tittle and the adventures they share as they journey through the themes of God’s Word. The inaugural book in the series, as well as collectible items, will be available to attendees to celebrate the launch of the series.
The series is also accompanied by a curriculum that enables parents, Sunday school teachers and anyone involved in children’s ministry to guide young children through the grand narrative of Scripture in a way that encourages even the youngest children to begin to develop an understanding of God’s infinite love and plan for them.
The SOS experience will be hosted at Christ Chapel Bible Church, 3701 Birchman Ave, in Fort Worth, Texas. Doors will open at 6:00 PM Friday evening, November 14 and the event will conclude around 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 15. Seating is limited, but there are seats available at this time.
Those interested in attending can register at www.TheStoryofScripture.org
Lunch on Saturday, and snacks and drinks throughout the weekend, are included with every registration - as well as the conference workbook and many other resources to help attendees go deeper into their journey through God’s grand narrative.
“It is the greatest story ever told,” said Dr. Yarbrough, “and God offers a part in his plan to anyone who will receive it. We truly believe that everyone who attends this event will emerge with a new understanding of God's love for his people. Some will be encouraged in their faith and others will see, for the first time, that God has a unique and divine place for them in his grand narrative.”
Launched in 2016, the Story of Scripture events have been conducted before thousands of people including The Billy Graham Center at The Cove in Asheville, North Carolina, and dozens of churches nationwide.
Dr. Mark Yarbrough began his tenure as the 6th president of Dallas Theological Seminary (DTS) on July 1, 2020, succeeding Dr. Mark Bailey. He has served in a variety of positions at DTS including Research Assistant to the President, Executive Director of Information Technology, Associate Dean for External Education, Vice President for Communications, Academic Dean, and Vice President of Academic Affairs.
His love for the classroom draws him to the Bible Exposition department where he serves as Professor. In addition to leading DTS, he travels extensively leading tours and speaking at conference centers. Mark has recently authored Jonah: Beyond the Tale of a Whale and Tidings of Comfort and Joy. He has been married for thirty years to Jennifer, his high school sweetheart. They have four adult children, one son-in-law, and reside in Sunnyvale, Texas.
